Quick answer
Choose the pace you want
Choose your difficulty before committing to a save. Cozy offers the relaxed option; Custom requires care because the developer says its settings cannot be changed later.
01
Choose the pace you want
The release announcement describes Cozy as the relaxed choice. Easy, Normal and Hard increase enemy statistics and death penalties; Nightmare is also available. These names are choices about your experience, not a ranking of how you should play.
If you choose Custom, review every setting before continuing. The developer warns that Custom settings cannot be changed later. Do not build a long-term save around an assumption that you can reverse that selection.
02
Plan one useful session
Farming, fishing, mining, foraging and turn-based combat are part of the official game description. You do not need to treat all of them as one first-day checklist. Pick a goal, note its immediate requirements and use your current task information to decide where to go next.
Our suggestion: give the session a clear finish line, such as understanding one task or trying one available activity. If progression stalls, record the task name, item needed and last completed step before changing direction.

Where does the basic axe fit?
In a January 28, 2026 developer reply, the Basic Axe was described as a task reward. That is pre-release advice, not a verified step-by-step route for the September full release.
Start by checking the tasks and rewards visible in your own game. The cited reply does not establish the exact current task, trigger or reward sequence, so this guide does not invent one. Keep a note of the task wording if you ask the developer for help.

Before following an older guide
A demo can have different access limits and progression from the full game. The developer’s itch.io page describes an alpha demo; its description of available areas should not be treated as the full game’s map.
Compare the guide date and named version with your title screen. If a door, reward or dialogue differs, stop treating the old instructions as an exact route. Use the checklist below to organize what you can directly observe.
